Doing his BSc Zoology, Joiston is responsible for reviving the annual Bangalore lakes and water bird survey which was not being conducted for many years. He is active in various nature related work with special interest in birds and their habitat. A keen wildlife photographer, keeps a meticulous record of his sightings.
